It doesn’t get any easier

It doesn’t get any easier

“Is my junior year going to be difficult?”, and “Will I have support like I did last year?” These are the questions that were racing through my head the night before school. I felt a sense of anxiety wash over me when I saw the halls filled with what seemed like an endless crowd of people. My anxiety calmed down when I met up with some friends and we made our way through the day.

I knew that going into this year I’d have a lot to do, SAT prep, scholarship searching, college searching, and staying on track with graduation. The month before school if you would’ve asked me how I felt I would’ve said I felt fine, not nervous at all. Ask me now and I’ll hesitate to answer. There isn’t much to say about how the first week went, the only way I could describe it is an absolute mess.

Some advice I’d give to those who feel like they’re struggling is to remember that these years are most likely going to be the easiest years of the rest of our lives, high school either makes you or breaks you, it’s really not going to get any easier than this. I know some people who already feel like they’re burnt out, I also know some people who say school isn’t for them, and others who will give everything they have and still not be content. Again advice I would give is to just keep going because if you can´t make it here, you can’t even begin to imagine how it is when you leave.
