Brauijay Daniels-Taylor, Olytimes writer

About 8,000,000 deaths every year are caused by mental health disorders; that’s 14.3 percent of deaths worldwide.

Having ill mental health can affect you physically and mentally.

Sleeping problems

“‌Around 50% to 80% of people with mental health conditions will also have sleeping problems. Only 10% to 18% of the general population experience sleeping problems.” This quote comes from: https: https://www.webmd.com. This states that about 50-80% of people who have ill mental health have a hard time sleeping, 10-18% of the general population that may seem small but really isn’t, considering the fact that there are about 8 billion people on the planet that’s 1,440,000,000 people on earth who have insomnia and or just sleeping disorders, for example, people tend to go to sleep at later times than the average human, and they have a hard time getting their sleeping schedule right this can be caused by night terrors and sleepwalking.

Social Isolation

Social Isolation is a complete or near-complete lack of contact between an individual or society. Social Isolation may be associated with other symptoms and signs including Social Withdrawal, a lack of any interest in daily activities, boredom, a loss of interest in personal hygiene, poor eating and nutrition habits, home environment in disrepair, keeping excessive clutter or hoarding, and poor sleep quality, something that causes it is that Social Isolation describes the absence of social contact and can lead to loneliness. It is a state of being cut off from normal social networks, which can be triggered by factors such as loss of mobility, unemployment, and communication problems.

Physical health

“…As well as this, mental health problems can come with physical symptoms. Our bodies and minds are not separate, so it’s not surprising that mental ill-health can affect your body. Depression can come with headaches, fatigue, and digestive problems, and anxiety can create an upset stomach…” this quote comes from:https://www.mentalhealth.org

Ill mental health can lead to poor hygiene and laziness, also comes with headaches and stomach aches as well this could be really irritating in the long run for anyone who has ill or bad mental health issues.

What others think of this particular topic

I interviewed two of my friends to get their opinion on the topic and see how they see this particular topic.

And my sister bailey says “I think it can affect your life by making it hard, it becomes a major part in everything you don’t ever feel normal, I honestly think it’s just a cry for help.”She says that mental health can become a major part of your life and can make it harder to live in it.

The last person I interviewed, Audi, said,” Mental health is like taking care of a flower. The more you don’t take care of it, the harder it gets to keep it healthy.“ The people I interviewed both think that having healthy mental health is important because it can affect your life and/or others.

Having healthy mental health is really important because having ill mental health can have a negative effect on life.
